Q: What time do the events take place? A: Kids Fun Run, Friday 6pm - City of Nisswa 5K Family Fun Run, Friday 6:30 pm - City of Nisswa Half Marathon, Saturday 7:45 am (participants will be shuttled to starting line beginning at 6:15 am, last bus leaves at 7:15 am) Marathon & Relay Marathon, Saturday 8 am Q: Has the date for the 2010 marathon been announced? A: The 2010 marathon is planned to take place Apirl 23-24, 2010. Q: Where is the Brainerd Jaycees Run for the Lakez starting/ending points? A: The full marathon will start and finish in the City of Nisswa by the Community Center. The half marathon starts by County Rd 127, on the beautiful Paul Bunyan Trail. Both races end on Church Street in Nisswa. Q: When does registration open? A: October 1, 2009 Q: When does registration close? A: Online registration closes April 16th. Q: Is there onsite registration? A: Only Friday evening from 4-9 at Grand View Lodge, not on Saturday. Q: When will I receive confirmation information? A: A detailed "Participant Guide" will be mailed to you the end of March. Q: Will the course(s) be certified? A: Yes, both the half marathon and marathon courses are USATF certified. Q: Is the race chip timed? A: Yes. Our race is chip timed and timed by Pickle Events. Q: What are the age categories? A: < 20, 21-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60, 61+ Q: Are prizes given out to runners? A: Yes, prizes will be awarded to the top finishers. Q: Do all runners get a finisher Medal and T-Shirt? A: Yes, custom medals will be given to all finishers at the finish line. All participants will receive a t-shirt along with a full runner’s bag of items from our sponsors. Q: How many waterstops are on the course? A: 15 Q: Is there a sports drink offered? A: Yes. Gatorade Q: Are gels offered? A: Not at this time. Q: Are there porta-potties on the course? A: Yes, at each of the waterstops and the start/finish line and the half marathon start. Q: Where should I park? A: There will be designated parking areas for runners in the city of Nisswa – a map will come with the Participant Guide the end of March. Q: Are there showers available? A: There are limited showers available at the Days Inn (approximately 2 miles south of starting line). The cost is $3.25 to use. Q: Is there lodging available nearby? A: Yes, see Grandview Lodge on the sponsor page for lodging specials. Q: Can I wear headphones? A: Yes Q: Are there aid stations on the route? A: Yes, 4+ aid stations and first responders will be at every mile marker. Q: Are there pacers? A: No Q: Can I volunteer to help? A: Yes, go to the volunteer tab and send an email for more information. Q: Is there an elevation map? A: No, however there is only an 8 meter difference in the course, with only a few small hills – the course is fairly flat. Q: When do I pick up my registration packet/chip packet? A: Friday evening from 4-9 at Grand View Lodge and Saturday morning 6:30 am at the Nisswa Community Center. Q: Is there a pasta feed? A: Yes, at Zorbaz on Gull Lake the cost is $12.50 for adults, $8.50 children 12 and younger. ALL YOU CAN EAT!
